Students at Hamilton Elementary School of Engineering and Technology are excited about learning by connecting with their world in ways that are fun and personally meaningful. The construction of our 21st century learning facility is all about using space innovatively to create the wonderment of science so that the entire school becomes a teaching tool.
We believe in developing innovative problem solvers by connecting with students' individual interests and talents. Our students engage in hands-on, project based STEM challenges in order to build core knowledge and develop future-ready skills.
We do that by:
-
Integrating engineering and technology into language arts, mathematics, and science standards, through Hamilton created engineering design units
-
Engineering real-world designs that include playgrounds, planetary rovers, rollercoasters, racecars, windmills, 3D printed prototypes, light mazes, weather gadgets, zip lines, and more
-
Incorporating the Engineering Design Process in all classrooms, including PE, Art, Music, and Robotics
-
Implementing the Engineering is Elementary© and LEGO Robotics Education Programs K-5
The Engineering Design Process drives our curriculum and makes it possible for our Hamilton innovators to learn how to solve today's problems and work towards solving tomorrow's.
